In March 2025, JASE-W dispatched a mission to Papua New Guinea in response to a request for cooperation in geothermal development from Kumul Consolidated Holdings, and held discussions with them, National Energy Authority and others. In addition, JASE-W made site visits to potential geothermal development areas: Wau Bulolo, Morobe Province in the eastern part of the main island, and New Britain Island.
