In March 2025, JASE-W dispatched a mission to Papua New Guinea in response to a request for cooperation in geothermal development from Kumul Consolidated Holdings, and held discussions with them, National Energy Authority and others. In addition, JASE-W made site visits to potential geothermal development areas: Wau Bulolo, Morobe Province in the eastern part of the main island, and New Britain Island. JASE-W exhibited at the ASEAN Sustainable Energy Week (ASEW) 2022 held in Bangkok, Thailand. Thailand holds the APEC presidency this year, and the venue for this exhibition, the Queen Sirkit National Convention Center, was fully renovated in September. JASE-W took part in ASEW 2021 virtual exhibition. It was originally planned to run as in-person event as same in the last year, however due to the spread of COVID-19 infection in Bangkok, the organizer decided to hold it virtually.
