In February 2026, JASE-W dispatched a mission to Papua New Guinea in response to requests for cooperation on geothermal development from the East New Britain Provincial Government and ENB Energy Ltd (established by the provincial government for renewable energy development), and held discussions with them. JASE-W also conducted site visits to potential geothermal development sites (including the Rabaul Caldera area). JASE-W will continue to explore the potential for geothermal development in the province in collaboration with the provincial government and ENB Energy Ltd.
