The Japanese Business Alliance for Smart Energy Worldwide (JASE-W) visited Hanoi, Vietnam, from March 11 to 14, 2026.
During this mission, the alliance reached highly significant agreements with major local developers and a university to promote Net Zero Energy Buildings (ZEB).Throughout the visit, JASE-W met with leading Vietnamese companies, including SUN Group, CBRE, and TH Corporation. The response from these organizations regarding ZEB implementation for property differentiation and the enhancement of real estate value was unexpectedly positive. Interest was particularly high for ESG integration in "Grade A" offices and the ZEB renovation of existing buildings.
Furthermore, concrete discussions have commenced regarding the potential for pilot projects at locations such as Horison Tower, which is managed by a major real estate consultant. While cost-related challenges such as the Return on Investment (ROI) remain, JASE-W aims to accelerate ZEB project formation in the Vietnamese market through tailored approaches that leverage Japan's advanced energy-saving technologies and expertise.Significant progress was also made in terms of institutional frameworks and human resource development.
Through meetings with the Hanoi University of Civil Engineering (HUCE), an agreement was reached to strengthen cooperation with the Vietnam Association of Architects (VAA). Currently, Vietnam faces a shortage of professionals capable of ZEB design and diagnosis; consequently, the VAA expressed a strong need for the implementation of practical educational programs.
JASE-W remains committed to contributing to the realization of a decarbonized society and sustainable growth in Vietnam through Japan's superior energy-saving solutions.
